Where apartment hotels and full-service hotels differ
An apartment hotel gives you a kitchen, a dining table and often a washer, and takes away the hotel breakfast, daily bed-making and sometimes the staffed evening desk. A full-service hotel keeps the breakfast, the cleaning and the front desk, and leaves you buying meals and washing clothes elsewhere. One Ueno hotel sits between the two.

Apartment hotels
Apartments with a full kitchen and dining table, bedrooms or defined sleeping places, and no restaurant.

Choose this model when You will stay three nights or more, a baby's feeds and naps set the schedule, and a second bedroom or a washer matters more than a breakfast buffet.
Watch-out Free-child allowances differ: MIMARU keeps up to two children aged 6 or under outside the adult capacity, while KEYAKIAN counts two children aged 0–6 as one adult and prepares bedding only for the confirmed guest count.

Choose this model when You want to warm bottles and keep breakfast simple in the room, but still expect a staffed desk at any hour and a bath for an older sibling.
Watch-out Free bed-sharing ends after age 5, the hotel adds no extra beds, and the six-person suite's bed-and-futon mix varies by room.
Full-service hotels
Hotels with a breakfast restaurant, hotel housekeeping, a staffed front desk and loan equipment for babies, but no kitchen in the room.
- Kitchen
- None. Warming bottles and baby food depends on what the room provides, the restaurant and nearby stores, so check the current room page for a kettle and refrigerator.
- Laundry
- A shared coin laundry at Villa Fontaine and Shiomi Prince; Grand Nikko has no self-service laundry and offers a laundry service instead.
- Breakfast
- A buffet with published child prices: preschool children eat free at Villa Fontaine, children aged 6 and under eat free at Shiomi Prince, and Grand Nikko charges from age 4 at Garden Dining.
- Housekeeping and desk
- Standard hotel housekeeping and a staffed front desk, with baby items such as a crib or bed guard lent on request.
- Bathing
- Each has a public bath or pool with age rules: diaper users are excluded at Shiomi Prince and Villa Fontaine, and Grand Nikko's indoor pool is for guests over 16. The room bathroom is the dependable option for a baby.
Choose this model when You want breakfast made for you, a store or supermarket close to the lobby and a staffed desk, and you are happy to eat out or buy meals rather than cook.
Watch-out Age boundaries move between the room rate, the breakfast table and the bath at the same hotel, so enter every child's age and read each rule separately.
