Tomari is created and edited by site owner Ryutaro Mihara. The guide includes hotels he has personally stayed at, alongside properties assessed through official information and direct research.
What our coverage is based on
When the site owner has stayed at a hotel, observations from that visit may inform the page. We say clearly when information comes from a personal stay and do not imply a visit where there was none.
Hotel websites, reservation pages, room descriptions, frequently asked questions, policies and notices are the starting point for factual claims.
Where a published answer is unclear, Tomari may contact the hotel or operator directly by email, phone or another documented enquiry. The answer is described in a way that makes its scope clear.
Recent reviews from international guests can reveal how a stay works in practice, especially for spoken English. Guest experience is kept separate from what the hotel officially promises.
How stays are selected
We favour stays that solve a real family-travel problem: workable sleeping arrangements, room space, bathing, meals, laundry, baby equipment, rainy-day options, transport and access to worthwhile places for children.
A hotel does not need to be unique to Tomari. It needs to be useful, accurately described and a strong base for the surrounding trip. Luxury hotels, regional stays, apartment hotels and traditional accommodation can all qualify when they serve a clear family need.
How we describe uncertainty
- Information that could not be confirmed is not described as unavailable.
- Spoken-language support is not guaranteed unless the hotel explicitly makes that promise.
- Room and child policies can vary by room, plan, age and booking channel.
- Travel times are shown only when calculated for the selected route and conditions.
Commercial independence
Affiliate relationships do not determine which hotels are selected or how they are described. If Tomari receives a complimentary stay, payment or another material benefit connected to coverage, that relationship will be disclosed on the relevant page.
Corrections and updates
Hotels and travel conditions change. We review important claims against current information and correct material errors when they are identified. A hotel operator or reader can request a check through our contact page.
